Training

We are now pleased to be able to offer the new  Shotgun Awareness training course. This 1 day course is aimed at the new shooter or those with no prior experience who want to gain a full understanding of shotgun shooting.

The course will cover:

• Guns and ammunition, types and caliber
• Terminology and gun anatomy
• Safe gun handling
• The law concerning Shotgun ownership and use
• Shooting techniques

The course is divided into a classroom session followed by a session on the range to put into practice the newly acquired knowledge

This course is suitable for all people aged from 12 upwards and is an ideal introduction to shotgun sports.

Attendees may bring their own gun ( together with their current shotgun certificate) or we can supply a suitable shotgun for you to use. All necessary safety equipment will be provided  as will lunch and refreshments.

 We can also offer the BASC Safe Shot test. This assessment is aimed at the experienced shooter and is designed to test your knowledge of the shotgun and its safe handling in the field. It is not suitable for novice shots. The test comprises of both a theory and a practical section and can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. Successful attendees will be awarded a certificate and badge to confirm that they have met the required standards to be called a “Safe Shot”
