Welcome to SmartShooting.co.uk, the online home of SmartShooting in Southern Scotland.
We provide services for the novice, regular clay shot or game shooter in Dumfries and Galloway.
Whether you are an experienced shot looking for a lesson to iron out a niggling problem, a complete novice wanting to try the sport for the first time, looking to organize a party or corporate event we will be happy to help.
lessons
From introductory lessons for novice shots to “brush up” sessions for the more experienced gun we can provide the full range of range of coaching services for the clay or game shot.
Specializing in lessons for the younger or novice shot we can offer one to one coaching in a quiet and relaxed environment. Should you not have your own gun we can supply one as we have a range of shotguns to suit all ages and builds. Importantly, we provide all of the personal protective equipment necessary for a safe and enjoyable lesson. Lessons are held at our private ground in New Abbey but can also be provided at a ground of your choice or even on your own premises (subject to suitability).
For your safety and security we undergo regular CRB checks and are fully insured .
game shooting
We can provide a field accompaniment service for those less experienced guns who require assistance with the formalities and etiquette of a driven day or who require some coaching “on the peg”. We can also offer loading for both single and double guns.
With over 40years of game shooting experience including game keeping, beating, picking up and game dealing / preparation you can be sure that we will be able to assist in all situations.

SmartShooting is run by Paul Smart, a BASC and APSI Shotgun coach with over 40 years game shooting experience. Having been shooting since he could walk Paul has a wealth of experience with shotguns, rifles, dogs and all aspects of game shooting.
We wont try and sell you any specific products, expensive clothing or other services but will guarantee to offer unbiased advice and quality tuition to make your favourite hobby more enjoyable and productive.
